Bid for a cooking lesson from a world-famous chef and help farmers in Lesotho. An online raffle by food blogger Pim Techamuanvivit offers an array of intriguing culinary prizes - and proceeds go to WFP.

Christmas Presents for Foodies

If anyone is still looking for Christmas presents for food lovers and fancies doing something good, have a look at www.chezpim.com. This is the site of Pim Techamuanvivit, a food blogger, and the home of the “Menu for Hope” initiative.

“Menu for Hope” is an online charity raffle with prizes for foodies around the world – whether it’s dinner with a famous food critic, a meal at an impossible-to-book restaurant, an autographed cookbook, a goody basket or fine wine. A donation of 10USD will buy you one raffle ticket – you can specify which prize you want to enter the draw for.

Proceeds go to the work of the UN World Food Programme in the tiny southern African kingdom of Lesotho, where WFP helps rural communities by purchasing surplus grain from small-scale farmers. The grain bought is used in WFP programmes including those supplying school lunches to children in Lesotho, giving them a chance for a better start in life.

More info and descriptions of all prizes are on www.chezpim.com; more about WFP’s work in Lesotho and its local purchasing initiatives at www.wfp.org.
