The growing Food Force family has a new member: the game is now available in Arabic!

The Arabic version of Food Force has been launched in Dubai, UAE. This is the 12th language version of Food Force, making it probably the most global non-profit video game in the world*. The Arabic translation was sponsored by the Community Service Programme of the Abdul Latif Jameel Company, one of the most important businesses in Saudi Arabia with strong philanthropical activities.
The game is being presented at an important trade fair for organisations in the humanitarian world, the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition or DIHAD. WFP’s Deputy Executive Director John Powell explained the choice of venue for the launch: “Dubai is an essential logistics hub for the entire humanitarian community, and esepcially for WFP as one of the leaders in this field. In Food Force, players can try their own hand at running a logsitcs operation to feed the hungry and save lives.”
Like all language versions of Food Force, the Arabic version is available to download for free: http://www.food-force.com/arabic
*If anyone has encountered a more multi-lingual humanitarian video game please let us know!! Contact silke.buhr@wfp.org.
