Famous people bring their celebrity to raise awareness of global hunger.
Many athletes and entertainers work with WFP on global hunger issues. Some stars have recorded special video messages to help publicize the needs of hungry people. These videos are called PSAs – Public Service Announcements.
Among the actors who have made PSAs are Sean Connery, Penelope Cruz, Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, Italian actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta and Egyptian cinema legend Mahmoud Yassin.
Film directors such as John Woo, Ridley Scott and Spike Lee have also contributed their talents to WFP.
WFP stars from the music industry include Wyclef Jean, Cape Verdian singer Cesaria Evora, Audioslave, and Thievery Corporation.
