Help others learn about the hunger problem.
The more people who know about global hunger, the more support we can build behind the work of WFP and others to fight hunger. Have a look at some ideas on how you can spread the word about global hunger.
WALK THE WORLD
Fight Hunger: Walk the World is a global annual event to raise the awareness and the funds needed to help end child hunger. In 2006 over 760,000 people in 118 countries and 420 locations walked!
The next walk will be held on Sunday 13 May 2007 – sign up to participate in what will be the world’s largest humanitarian event. Join the walk and spread the word! Visit fighthunger.org.
WRITE TO YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER
You can write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper to raise awareness in your community about the hunger problem and what can be done to help those in need.
CONTACT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS
Help make sure food aid programs receive the funding they need. Write to Members of Congress or Member of Parliment and urge them to support critical programs that help the hungry.
TELL YOUR TEACHER
Tell your teacher about Food Force so your class can play the game and use the hunger lesson plans.
