DJ Bobo, WFP’s National Ambassador Against Hunger, raised over 120,000 USD for WFP operations in Ethiopia at this year’s Villars Charity 24-hour Sky Competition in Switzerland. DJ Bobo not only took part in the race; he also gave a two-hour concert as part of the special tenth-anniversary celebrations of the event.

The Villars race consists of 150 teams composed of four to eight skiers – it’s not about who’s the fastest or best skier, but about covering as much distance as possible in 24 hours. Each team has sponsors who pay a certain amount per “lap? covered. The money was then distributed between three organisations: WFP, the Teenage Cancer Trust (a British NGO) and Patouch, a Swiss NGO fighting violence against children.
